On World Prematurity Day, we want to share with you Emmie’s story as told by her mother Vanessa.

Internationally Educated Nurses from across the UK were invited to a special reception hosted by His Majesty, King Charles III, in celebration of his 75th birthday which coincides with the NHS75 celebrations. This event notably honours the dedicated efforts of nurses and midwives throughout the decades. 

Tredegar Health Centre will soon be moving into their new home at The Bevan Health & Wellbeing Centre. As part of the decommissioning process in readiness for the move, Tredegar Health Centre has gone above and beyond to help others.

A group of children from Ringland Primary School were treated to a visit of the recently named 19 Hills Health & Wellbeing Centre, a £28m development on the old Ringland Medical Centre site.

We are celebrating the important contribution that Occupational Therapy can make to people’s lives this Occupational Therapy Week.

Occupational Therapists work with people of all ages across a wide range of sectors including schools, hospitals, community settings and care homes. Occupational Therapy supports people experiencing short or long-term physical, mental health, environment or social difficulties. This may include difficulties with every-day tasks such as getting around the home as well as difficulties participating in hobbies, school and work.  

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board are introducing a new Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS). This service will be live on 6^th November 2023.

A huge congratulations to the ABUHB Haematology Nurse Specialists, who have been presented with a Medical Champion Award from Leukaemia Care at their annual Volunteer Awards in the Houses of Parliament!

It’s Acute Oncology Services (AOS) Awareness Week! The Acute Oncology Service supports cancer patients admitted to hospital who are unwell with a complication of their cancer, side effects of their cancer treatment (chemotherapy or radiotherapy) or have a new diagnosis of cancer. 

Outpatient Services in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board deliver essential care for patients. We recognise that when you require access to our care, you need it at that time, rather than according to a schedule or a waiting list.

A team of health professionals across the health board has been successful in an application to the Arts Council of Wales for continuing funding towards an Arts & Minds project.
