Due to a ‘concerning’ rise in COVID-19 cases in the Gwent area, the Health Board is writing an open letter to residents of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen. The letter asks residents to follow the new level 4 restrictions and minimise the number of people that they see over the festive season to help slow the spread of the virus.

We are delighted to be working in partnership with Torfaen Leisure Trust, who have been really supportive in helping us set up the first Mass Vaccination Centre in Gwent, which has enabled us to successfully roll-out the first doses of the Covid vaccine.

12/08/2020 Historic Day for Health Board as Wales starts COVID-19 Vaccinations

The day has finally arrived as Gwent starts on its road to recovery. Wales was the first country in the world to receive supplies of the vaccine last week, and today a huge team of healthcare professionals have become one of the first to start vaccinating the Gwent population, protecting people against coronavirus.

There are a number of NHS staff who have experienced the devastating effects of Covid-19. For example, some have contracted the virus and needed mechanical ventilation, some have been unable to visit relatives in hospital and some staff have lost family members, not being with them when they were dying, as visiting restrictions at that time did not allow it.

A temporary mobile testing unit at the Old Mill Car Park, Trosnant, Pontypool, NP4 8AT, has opened on Wednesday 30th September.

This new mobile unit has been opened in response to a rising rate of Coronavirus cases, and will provide a ‘walk up’ testing service to residents of Torfaen, by appointment only.

09/16/2020 New Temporary Coronavirus Testing Centre to Open in New Tredegar

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has announced the opening of a new testing centre in New Tredegar in Caerphilly Borough.

This new mobile unit will provide a testing service to residents in the north of Caerphilly Borough. It is located at the car park, New Tredegar Business Park, White Rose Way, NP24 6BH and you must book an appointment to attend for a test.
