A mother has shared her heartfelt thanks to three Nevill Hall Hospital midwives after receiving exceptional care throughout her pregnancy.
Maisie, who required daily CTG monitoring, praised midwives Tracey, Maria and Hayley for their kindness, support and dedication, describing the care she received as "second to none".
What made her experience particularly special was Tracey's connection to Maisie's own story. Twenty-seven years ago, Tracey cared for Maisie's mother during her pregnancy. More than two decades later, she was there to support the next generation of the family.
Reflecting on her experience, Maisie said:
"It's quite magical. Tracey was my mother's midwife when my mam was pregnant with me and I'm now 27. Tracey was there to help and support me through my pregnancy and nothing was too much trouble.
"To know this wonderful woman brought me into this world and then supported me during my own pregnancy and cared for me and my daughter, we cannot thank her enough. These women deserve all the recognition they can get."
Stories like Maisie's highlight the lasting impact of compassionate care and the dedication of our maternity teams, who support generations of families across Gwent at some of the most important moments in their lives.
