Bryngwyn Surgery Named GP Surgery of the Year at South Wales Community Awards

Bryngwyn Surgery in Newport has been named GP Surgery of the Year at the South Wales Community Awards 2025, held at Rodney Parade on Thursday 23rd October 2025.

The awards organised by the South Wales Argus, along with The Western Telegraph and partners showcase South Wales and the people that make a difference.

The award, sponsored by South Wales Hearing Health, recognises Bryngwyn Surgery’s exceptional commitment to patient care, outstanding customer service, and organisational excellence. The practice was praised by nominators as “the most welcoming, friendly, accessible, and well-run surgery,” with staff consistently putting patients’ needs first.

Bryngwyn Surgery stood out among strong contenders, including Wellspring Medical Centre and North Celynen Surgery, both of which were also nominated for their compassionate care and dedication to their communities.

The South Wales Community Awards celebrates unsung heroes across 14 categories, from healthcare and education to business and community projects. This award highlights the vital role primary care plays in supporting the health and wellbeing of local residents.

GP’s, Practice Manager and staff were in attendance to accept the award, expressing gratitude to patients and the wider community for their continued support.

The evening was a celebration of South Wales’ most dedicated individuals and organisations.
