Calling All Coaches - Join a FREE Session on Helping to Prevent Serious Knee Injuries in Youth Sport

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is proud to support Power Up To Play, a charity initiative founded by medical professionals to improve the welfare of young players in grassroots sport through the prevention of serious knee injuries.

Over the last 20 years, there has been a substantial increase in serious knee injuries among teenagers, including Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries. As coaches, you play a vital role in helping young athletes stay safe, active and enjoying sport.

Power Up to Play are holding a FREE coach education session to help you learn practical, evidence-based strategies to reduce the risk of knee injuries in young players - suitable for coaches across all youth sports.


When:

Wednesday 15th July 2026, 6:00pm - 7:30pm

Where:

Rodney Parade, Newport

 

The session will provide:

  • Injury prevention techniques
  • Effective warm-up strategies
  • Practical advice you can implement immediately
