Castle Gate Medical Practice Returns Home Following Successful Restoration Work

After several months as part of the Monnow Vale Health and Social Care Facility community, Castle Gate Medical Practice is preparing to return to its own premises following the completion of restoration work required after damage caused by Storm Claudia.

While the temporary relocation was driven by unforeseen circumstances, it has highlighted the many benefits that can be achieved when health and care teams work together in a shared environment.

Throughout their time at Monnow Vale, colleagues from Castle Gate Medical Practice worked closely alongside primary care, community services and inpatient teams. The arrangement helped strengthen professional relationships, foster greater collaboration and support joined-up care for patients across Monmouthshire.

The move was made possible through the dedication and teamwork of staff across Monnow Vale, ensuring the practice was able to continue delivering services with minimal disruption to patients.

During their stay, the Castle Gate team became valued members of the wider hospital community, contributing not only to patient care but also to the positive culture across the site through their engagement with colleagues and inpatient services.

Trish Edwards, Head of Service for Monmouthshire, thanked the practice team for their professionalism and support during their time at Monnow Vale, she said:

While colleagues at Monnow Vale will be sorry to see the team leave, everyone is pleased that Castle Gate Medical Practice can now return to its home surgery and continue providing care for patients from its own practice premises once again.
