Celebrating Armed Forces Day

Check out the new resources to support members of the Armed Forces, Reservists and Veterans…

Armed Forces Day takes place on the last Saturday each June, landing on the 27th of June in 2020. The day is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community; from veterans to currently serving troops, service families and cadets.

Reserves Day is also celebrated on the 24th of June and provides an opportunity for everyone to recognise our Reserve Forces. Reservists volunteer to serve in the Reserve Forces, balancing their personal life with a military career to ensure they are ready to serve within the military should that be required.

Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic, many regular celebrations and parades have had to be cancelled or postponed. However, we are encouraging residents to continue to show your support from the safety of your own home. You can get involved through sharing your support on social media using the hashtag #SaluteOurForces; a simple way to pay tribute to the British Armed Forces.

You can visit the Armed Forces Day website for more information.
