On Friday 12th July 2024, the Health Board held the first Allied Health Professionals and Healthcare Scientists conference since 2018. Throughout the day, a range of Allied Health Professionals and Healthcare Scientists came together to share new initiatives, evoke new ways of thinking, and to showcase the fantastic contribution these colleagues make to our services everyday.
The jam-packed agenda consisted of everything from quick-fire presentations, Q&A sessions and guest speakers, to information stands, challenges, peer discussions, and an inspirational performance from the Cwmbran Deaf Choir.
Throughout the day, there were a number of guest speakers from a range of different specialties and backgrounds, including Health Board Chief Executive, Nicola Prygodzicz; Peter Carr, Executive Director of Therapies and Health Science; Emma Louise Sinnott, Specialist Speech and Language Therapist; Dr Francis Subash, Consultant Anaethsetist; and Independent Member and Vice-Chair, Pippa Britton. There were also quick-fire presentations on transformation work by colleagues in Orthoptics; Radiology; Physiotherapy; Occupational Therapy; Older Adult Mental Health; Learning Disabilities; the Community Neurological Rehabilitation Service, and the Learning Disabilities Arts Therapies Team.
