09/24/2024 Gwent's Filipino Nurses Honour Heritage at Florence Nightingale's Home

Filipino nurses from Aneurin Bevan University Health Board have represented Wales in a one-in-a-lifetime visit to the childhood home of Florence Nightingale. The extraordinary experience to Lea Hurst, which took place on 12th September, was organised by the Philippine Embassy in the UK, in partnership with Mr. Peter Kay, the owner of the historic house.

It’s been an incredible journey since the launch of our Clinical Trials Unit 2 years ago, and it’s great to look back at the impact that’s been made! On August 30th, local artist Nathan Wyburn revealed his latest creation at The Bevan Health & Wellbeing Centre in Tredegar. The centrepiece, now prominently displayed at the centre’s main entrance, is a portrait of NHS founder and local hero, Aneurin Bevan. This artwork is uniquely crafted using images that trace the rich history of Tredegar.
