We are delighted to announce that Dr Modupe Obilanade, a dedicated and inspirational GP, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the King’s Birthday Honours for her exceptional services to the local community.
For over a decade, Dr Obilanade has been the driving force behind St Paul’s Clinic, transforming it from a small, overstretched practice into a thriving healthcare hub at the heart of the community. Her tireless commitment, often working singlehandedly to keep the practice running, has made a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of countless patients.
Under her leadership, St Paul’s has become a model of accessible, compassionate, and community-focused care. She has championed initiatives to reduce health inequalities, improve chronic disease management, and build trust with underserved populations. Her work has not only improved clinical outcomes but also strengthened the relationship between the practice and the people it serves.
Colleagues describe Dr Obilanade as “unstoppable,” “deeply compassionate,” and “a true community leader.”
Her recognition in the Honours list is a testament to her unwavering dedication and the difference one person can make when they lead with purpose and heart. The MBE is one of the UK’s highest civilian honours, awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to society.
