Health and Social Care Cabinet Secretary Visit to Royal Gwent and Nevill Hall Hospitals

The Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, Mark Drakeford, paid visits to the Royal Gwent and Nevill Hall Hospital today (Friday 23rd August), where he was given a glimpse of some of the amazing work being undertaken across the Health Board.

He began the day with a visit to the Endoscopy Unit at the Royal Gwent Hospital, where he was given a tour of the new unit, and was able to hear from some of the team’s key staff members, as well as some grateful patients.

He then travelled to Nevill Hall Hospital to visit different areas of the site. He began with a tour of some of the areas of the hospital, followed by a visit to staff on Ward 3/2 to hear about their partnership initiative with Monmouthshire County Council. He was then joined by Interim Chief Executive of Velindre University NHS Trust, Carl James, for a tour of the latest progress of the Velindre Satellite Radiotherapy Unit.
