Health Board Re-awarded Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award at Armed Forces Forum

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has been honoured with the prestigious Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to supporting members of the Armed Forces community across Gwent and beyond.

The award was formally presented during the Gwent Area Armed Forces Forum, held at St Cadocs Hospital. Receiving the award on behalf of the organisation were Nicola Prygodzicz, Chief Executive, and Neil Patrick, ABUHB’s Armed Forces Champion and Chair of the Forum.

ABUHB remains a Veteran Aware organisation, actively training staff in armed forces awareness. The Health Board has also introduced support for the community within its workforce and employed dedicated Armed Forces staff to lead and deliver this work for the community.

The ERS Gold Award is the highest accolade given by the Ministry of Defence to organisations that demonstrate exceptional support to the Armed Forces community, including serving personnel, veterans, reservists, and military families. This revalidation recognises ABUHB’s continued efforts to embed Armed Forces-friendly practices across all aspects of the organisation.
