Minister hears how psychology-led care is transforming lives at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board

We were proud to welcome Welsh Mental Health and Wellbeing Minister Sarah Murphy to St Cadoc’s HQ yesterday, where she saw first-hand how psychology is making a meaningful difference to patient care across Gwent.

“Psychologists at Aneurin Bevan use an approach that takes into account people’s life experiences and the social factors that influence health. By investing in support early, we can deliver better outcomes for individuals and more cost-effective care” she said.

Co-Chairs of the BPS’s Welsh Branch of the Division of Clinical Psychology, Elanor Maybury and Bethan Phillips, praised the collaborative work taking place in the Health Board.

The visit forms part of the BPS’s Psychology Matters initiative, which aims to raise awareness of the lifechanging impact of psychological services across the UK.
