New Year Honours List 2021

Congratulations to Professor Alka Surajprakash Ahuja and Professor Tamas Szakmany who have both received awards in the New Year Honours list 2021.

Professor Alka Surajprakash Ahuja, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has been awarded an MBE within the New Year Honours list 2021.

Alka helped establish and scale up the NHS Wales Video Consulting Service for people to continue to access healthcare advice and services from their homes during the pandemic.

Professor Tamas Szakmany, Critical Care Consultant for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has been awarded an MBE within the New Year Honours list 2021.

Tamas has been a vital part of the team in leading our response to the Covid pandemic, as well as dedicating his time to leading research in helping to understand the disease, as well as being part of the Covid vaccine trial.
