The Bevan Health & Wellbeing Centre welcomed Nerys Evans, Deputy Minister for Public and Preventative Health

On Thursday 18th June, The Bevan Health & Wellbeing welcomed Nerys Evans, Deputy Minister for Public and Preventative Health, to find out about the work, impact and success of the ‘Happy Health Blaenau Gwent – In This Together’ project.

The project aims to support people to live well, with the help of their local community. The initiative takes a people-first, community-focused approach to improving physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It connects individuals with local support, services and opportunities through a variety of methods including word of mouth as well as digital interactive maps, helping them to build healthier, more fulfilling lives.

The Deputy Minister was greeted by Director of Public Health, Tracy Daszkiewicz and Divisional Director of Primary Care, Community Services and CHC, Lloyd Hambridge, where she was shown around the centre. The Deputy Minister then met with a number of teams including the Gwent Public Health Team, Integrated Wellbeing Network, The Happy Healthy Blaenau Gwent Team as well as local residents who shared their experiences on the project.
