Frequently Asked Questions

We will try and send an appointment letter including a patient information leaflet. Unfortunately, this is not always possible as appointments can be booked at short notice and there can be delays with the postal service. Do not worry if you do not receive a letter – your appointment is booked at the point of call with yourself and a member of staff.

If you need a letter for work, please let us know and we will provide you with one.

We encourage you to be accompanied by a friend or relative.

Please take your medication as you normally would.

Please bring a urine sample and a list of your medications as well as anything you feel you may need at clinic e.g. refreshments, medication, walking stick etc.

If you are asthmatic, please bring your inhaler with you.

None of the routine tests should impact on your ability to drive.

The Rapid Diagnostic Clinic service is only located in the Main Outpatients Department of the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport.
