Covid-19 Spring Booster Eligibility

Protection reduces over time, so it’s important to stay up to date with your vaccinations if you’re eligible.

As part of the JCVI’s (Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation) review of the Covid-19 vaccination programme, they have published a statement with their final advice on eligibility for the 2024 Covid-19 Spring Booster programme.

Those eligible for the Covid-19 Spring Booster include:

• People aged 75 or over

• A resident in a care home for older adults, or

• aged 6 months and over and have a weakened immune system

Those eligible will receive an invitation for a COVID-19 Spring booster vaccination from us soon, however, should you wish to contact our vaccination booking team you can do so by calling 0300 303 1373 or emailing: Abb.massvaccinationbookingcentre@wales.nhs.uk. 

Just like in previous years, we will be starting our Spring Booster vaccinations in care homes across Gwent. We will then invite other eligible people to receive their vaccination at their nearest popup vaccination clinic - a list of these will be made available weekly here: Vaccination Pop-up Clinics - Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (nhs.wales)
