What does this look like in practice?

For Patients & Their Families

  • Regular visits
  • Religious rites and ceremonies  (including “last rites”, weddings, and baby blessings)
  • Bedside and chapel services
  • Liaising with external religious groups to provide support for patients
  • Ward activities with particular patient groups (e.g NICU, Dementia Wards, Mental Health)
  • Seasonal events (Christmas, Memorial Services etc)

... and whatever else we can help with

For Staff

  • Wellbeing events
  • A Confidential, listening ear
  • Advocacy
  • Religious/Spiritual Support (Such as prayer meetings, occasional services for staff)
  • Initiatives to boost staff morale and show appreciation to them
  • A “Thought for the Week”  on our internal intranet pages - A short reflection for all staff, religious or not, to help them think about their physical, emotional, and spiritual health

... and whatever else we can help with
