Delivery of ENT Out-Patient Services
The way we deliver our outpatient service is constantly changing and evolving. You may require diagnostic testing before seeing the consultant. These tests can include imaging via the Medical Illustration Team or radiology scan procedures that can help the Consultant diagnose and plan treatment. It is important that our patients engage with these tests to ensure full treatment and diagnosis.
The Royal Gwent Hospital is the main focus for outpatient service delivery with clinics running Monday to Friday at various times during the day. Limited outpatient services are also undertaken in Nevill Hall Hospital and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr Hospital on certain days which can also vary.
We will endeavour to schedule outpatient appointments as close to home as possible, however this may not always be possible.
ENT Conditions we treat:
- Ear problems (otology) – hearing loss and balance, Meniere's disease, tinnitus, vertigo, ear infections including mastoiditis, glue ear, perforated ear drum and protruding ears.
- Nose conditions (rhinology) - nasal disease, nose injuries, nasal tumours and polyps and sinus related conditions.
- Throat conditions – infected tonsils and adenoids, thyroid disorders, voice and swallowing issues.
- Head, neck and facial cancers
