Head and Neck Cancer Services

Our Head and Neck support team based at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board are available to help with any questions or provide support. 

The Head and Neck Support Team comprises of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Specialist Speech and Language Therapists and Specialist Dietitians. They provide specialist care for our patients diagnosed with a head and neck cancer throughout patient treatment and for the duration of their follow up. If you need the teams support you will be referred and meet them during your clinic consultation. The head and neck support team have their own clinics in which they offer pre-treatment and post treatment support to head and neck cancer patients.

The Clinical Nurse Specialists act as key worker for all head and neck patients’ cancer patients (ENT and Maxillofacial). They act as a point of contact for patients, relatives and health care professionals, providing a link between community and hospital care. The CNS service link with and refer to other support services such as benefits advice, psychology services, lymphedema, specialist dentistry, Velindre CNS service.

Patients are referred to the nursing team via ENT and Maxillofacial Consultants. The nursing team are Jane Cox and Chloe Sidnell (Clinical Nurse Specialists), Hayley Jones (support worker) Chloe O’Brien (Nurse practitioner) 

They can be contacted on their direct line 01633 238520 which has an answerphone facility as they are often out of the office supporting patients in clinic or visiting patients on wards. When leaving a message please remember to give your full name, date of birth and a contact number that the team can call you back on.  The service is available Monday to Friday from 8:00am until 4:00pm.
