ESCAPE-Pain Hips and Knees
What is the ESCAPE-Pain Hip and Knee Programme?
- The programme is 6 weeks long and is run in a leisure centre
- Participant attends two classes each week (12 classes in total)
- Each class includes:
- 20 minutes group discussion on a specific topic relating to hip and knee arthritis
- 30-40 minutes of different exercises designed to improve your movement and function

Ebbw Vale Leisure Centre
Tuesday and Thursday – 10:00 – 11:00
Newport International Sports Village – Regional Pool and Tennis Centre
Wednesday and Friday – 11:30 – 12:30

What do I do after I complete an ESCAPE-Pain Programme
Upon completion of an ESCAPE-Pain programme, the team will guide and inform you of ways to keep the momentum of attending the program going. Possible pathways include
– Good Boost Aqua or land
– Gym memberships
– ESCAPEE (exercise group for ESCAPE-Pain graduates)
– NERS Scheme
