The Chronic Pain Team

What is Chronic Pain

Chronic or persistent pain is pain that carries on for longer than 12 weeks despite medication or treatment.

Our Vision

Managing a world of pain- Helping you to help yourself

Our Mission
  • To provide comprehensive, empathetic and expedient services to uses
  • To educate, accept and manage expectations of chronic pain
  • To encourage, support and aid self-management to take control of pain conditions

What we do

The Chronic Pain Management Team is here to help patients to self-manage their pain. It should be made clear we are not a diagnostic service. Once accepted to the service the patient will be reviewed in clinic by one of our team, it will then be determined what interventions can be offered to support the patient with the self-management of their persistent pain.

This may include injections, Quetenza Patches, a referral to join our 8-week Pain Management Programme (PMP), subject to review by the PMP Team. It may also be determined that with the right information and tools the patient may be able to manage their pain with minimal intervention. Self-referral to EPP, reading through the Pain Toolkit or Holistic practices may work better for them.
