Staff you might meet

Our Department consists of a range of consultants, speciality doctors and training registrars, specialist nurses, and ward teams. We are supported by a number of admin and managerial staff.

Consultants – These are the most senior doctors that you will meet. They usually oversee patient care. Consultants in the Urology department are called Urologists. 

Junior Doctors – Junior Doctors is a term that encompasses doctors of all levels that are not consultants. The term “junior” can be misleading – some “junior” doctors may be senior specialist registrars who have been working as doctors for a number of years.

Nursing Staff – Our ward and urology teams include staff with a range of experience. Their aim is to make your stay in the hospital as easy and comfortable as possible. Nursing uniforms are colour coded depending on their role:

Light Blue – Staff Nurses | Nyrs Staff
Navy Blue –Ward Managers | Rheolwr Ward
Royal Blue – Specialist Nurses | Nyrs Arbenigol
Bottle Green – Healthcare Support Workers | Gweithwyr Cymorth Gofal Iechyd
Purple – Student Nurses | Nyrs Dan Hyfforddiant
Black – Senior Nurses / Hospital Managers | Nyrs Uwch / Rheolwr Ysbyty
