The Urology Day Case Unit is situated on level 0 at the Royal Gwent Hospital, and is open Monday – Friday from 07:00am – 5:30pm.

Our ten-bedded Urology Day case unit takes care of patients who require a longer stay than clinic allows, such as those having a catheter removed (trial without catheter or TWOC) and those undergoing shock wave Lithotripsy Day case patients may need some recovery time at the hospital, but they can usually go home the same day.

We also care for patients going to the Urology Theatre expecting to be discharged the same day as well as Day of Surgery Admission cases expecting a longer stay.
