We specialise in benign andrology, an area of medicine concerning men's health. That means diagnosing and treating conditions like erectile dysfunction (impotence), ejaculation issues, male infertility and Peyronie's Disease (Penile curvature.)
Our clinics are held at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Floor 2, within the Department of Urology.
You can only be referred into the Andrology service via your GP or other healthcare professional. All referrals are checked initially by a consultant or nurse specialist who will also decide on the next step for your care.
Appointments can be offered at various times during the week, you may be offered a face-to-face appointment or a telephone call with a consultant or a nurse specialist. When you visit the clinic, you will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire and undertake general observations, such blood pressure check, weight and height. The consultant/nurse specialist will ask you questions about your medical history, and current medication you have been prescribed. Your consultation may also involve a physical examination.
Together, with our Health Board guidelines, your GP will assess you and, if appropriate, commence oral medication for this condition. If oral medication is not appropriate, your GP will refer you to our hospital erectile dysfunction service where more advanced treatments are discussed and offered.
Please contact the clinic if you need to cancel or re-arrange an appointment.
