Delivery of ENT Treatment Services

Elective surgery is performed at two sites across the Health Board; The Royal Gwent Hospital and The Grange University Hospital. Depending on your fitness following your pre-assessment and the type of procedure you are having done, you will be offered a date to come in on one of these sites. Our Scheduling team will contact you to discuss and agree a suitable date for you to come in for your procedure and this will be followed with a confirmation letter and text message.

Surgery Admissions

There are two types of admissions for surgery which are decided by the type of procedure you are having done and your fitness following your PAC.

Day Surgery

If you are for Day Surgery you will come in on the day of surgery and, in the majority of cases, go home the same day. Majority of these procedure are carried out at the Day Surgery Unit in the Royal Gwent Hospital.

In- Patient Surgery

If you are for In-patient surgery this generally means you will stay in hospital for at least one night and potentially longer. For inpatient stays, patients will be admitted to the Grange University Hospital.
