Staff you might meet
The Haematology Department consists of a range of consultants, doctors, specialist nurses, and ward teams.
Consultants
These are the most senior doctors that you will meet. They usually oversee patient care. Consultants in the Haematology Department are called Haematologists.
Resident Doctors
Resident Doctors are a term that encompasses doctors of all levels that are not Consultants, from Foundation trainees through to Specialist Registrars.
Nursing Staff
Our ward and teams include staff with a range of experience. Their aim is to make your stay in the hospital as easy and comfortable as possible. Nursing uniforms are colour coded depending on their role:
Light Blue – Staff Nurses
Navy Blue –Ward Managers
Royal Blue – Specialist Nurses
Bottle Green – Healthcare Support Workers
Purple – Student Nurses
Black – Senior Nurses / Hospital Managers
