An ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangipancreatography) is a procedure that enables examination of the bile ducts (which drain bile from the gallbladder to the first part of the small bowel known as the duodenum) and sometimes the pancreatic ducts (which drain digestive juices from the pancreas to the duodenum) using a flexible duodenoscope (camera). This procedure is performed in either Nevill Hall Hospital (NHH) as an outpatient or The Grange University Hospital (GUH) as an inpatient.
If you are booked for this procedure you will be provided specific guidance from the booking team.
