Help Me Quit at your local Pharmacy

If you’re visiting our main hospital sites and craving nicotine, Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) can be purchased from vending machines at the Grange, the Royal Gwent, Nevill Hall and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr. In-patients can access NRT free on our wards. Speak to your ward staff for more information.

Many Community Pharmacies across Gwent offer one-to-one support to stop smoking with an accredited Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician.

Pharmacy support includes:

  • Initial consultation and weekly or fortnightly follow-up sessions up to a total treatment course length of 12 weeks
  • Access to licensed stop smoking medication for up to 12 weeks e.g. patches and one additional oral product such as gum or an inhalator.
