*UPDATE* Fire Incident at the Royal Gwent Hospital Outpatients Department

Update! The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service have now left the Royal Gwent Hospital site and the building has been made secure.

Anyone with an appointment in the Main Outpatients Department from 11am onwards today can attend their appointment as these will be running as planned. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for everyone’s co-operation and to our staff and the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service for their quick response.

We are currently dealing with a fire at the Royal Gwent Hospital Outpatients Department. The department has been evacuated and the South Wales Fire and Rescue service are on scene. All outpatient appointments have been cancelled for today and all inpatients and staff are safe.

We will update as soon as we know more information.
