Future Arrangements for Stroke Rehabilitation Services

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is responsible for all health services across the former county of Gwent (including the local authority areas of Blaenau-Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen) and some of the population of South Powys.

We are engaging with the public about the long-term arrangements for stroke rehabilitation services, which were centralised at one hospital on a temporary basis in 2023, and we would like people's views on the best arrangements for the long term.

We have produced the documents below to set out our thinking and the principles we would like to use when making decisions about how services are organised in the future.  It is important that everyone who has an interest in our services has an opportunity to understand the proposals and to let us know their views.

To ensure the public can consider the proposals, the Health Board is working closely with Llais (formerly known as Aneurin Bevan Community Health Council) and a twelve-week period of public engagement has been arranged. This will run from Monday 27 October 2025 until Friday 30th January 2026.

How can people make their views known?
