Chronic liver disease is a complex disease with a number of underlying causes and a variety of signs and symptoms. It can effect each individual very differently and its effects on an individual can vary greatly over time.
There are many tests we can do to find out why you may have liver disease, how severe it is and to monitor its progress.
This section explains some of the tests we do, why we do them and how they are performed. Not all tests will be required for all conditions and if you have any specific questions relating to tests for your diagnosis please speak to your specialist nurse or doctor.
