What is Pulmonary Rehabilitation?

Many people with lung conditions become breathless in activities. Being short of breath can reduce your overall activity and this leads to decreased fitness levels.

Pulmonary rehabilitation is a course that has been shown to improve fitness, gain more knowledge about your lung condition and meet other people with similar experiences.
 

Who can participate?

These courses are designed for any patients with a diagnosed respiratory condition such as COPD, Asthma, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Sarcoidosis and Bronchiectasis.

It is suited to a person who is motivated to improve the management of their lung condition
 

Local Courses

The course runs over eight weeks including pre and post assessment with a six-week programme running twice a week. Each programme is supported by a multidisciplinary team such as Physiotherapists, Respiratory Nurses, and Exercise Instructors. Each session includes one hour exercise and one hour education supported by various healthcare professionals. Enhanced smoking cessation support is also available in all areas.
