We believe that everyone has a right to:
We provide training to health, education and respite staff. We have offered the following training in the past:
“I was reluctant as I didn’t want to let people into my home but they will be able to help. Help you think about things, because being in the situation all the time, you just don’t think of e.g., being more patient, brought new ideas and support to try new things. They gave me a voice and because of that our day-to-day living is better.”
“Our child’s behaviour is better now. I now see warning signs and handle things well. That’s had a big impact on things being better. We get to have some time together now. We are able to travel and go on holiday. Your input has given my child a choice to communicate.”
“Thank you all so much for everything you have done for me and my family. If it wasn’t for this amazing team, we would all be at rock bottom. But now we’re thriving as individuals and as a family. You’ve taught us all different tools to help us so it’s now second nature when using them.”
“Without this team I'd dread to think where we would be as a family but now... we have learnt to adjust and have strategies in place before we hit a hard patch and if we hit a hard patch anyway the team are there to help us through.”
“BIG THANK YOU for helping us. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. iPBS team changed mine and [YP’s name]’s life forever.”
“Without the Psychology sessions, my husband and I would no longer be together.”
“I believe that without iPBS’s involvement, there would have been a significantly higher risk of family breakdown.”
“The team creates a calm and supportive environment for the child. The focus on the child’s pace and emotional needs helps me to interpret in a manner that support their understanding.”
“You have all really inspired and taught me so much and I have often felt moved and motivated by your passion and proficiency.”
“It’s been great to see the impact on families, to have a go-to team for support. Regularly and easily accessible for professional queries/communications. The clinical lead is very approachable and her values and passion to support families is really prominent.”
“Working as a multi-disciplinary team is helpful, there is a shared understanding and a consistent approach across settings. Finding better ways to manage behaviours that challenge i.e., eating/sleeping. I believe this is down to the support of iPBS team.”
“The benefits of iPBS would be even more impactful if the service were available in other boroughs across Gwent.”
