Physiotherapy for Young People & Adults with Learning Disabilities

The Adult Learning Disability Physiotherapy Team is a community team seeing people in Caerphilly, Newport, Torfaen, Monmouth and Blaenau Gwent who have a learning disability.

We discuss your abilities and difficulties and work together to make a plan so that you can achieve what is important to you.

We work with all the people who support you.  We help you with your body position, movements and physical skills.  This will help you with your daily activities.

When you see a member of the team, you will either see a transition physiotherapist if you are between the age of 16 and 25, or a physiotherapist who sees adults over the age of 25.  You may also see one of our physiotherapy technicians.

Please go to Advice & Exercises for Young People & Adults with a Learning Disability for further information and tools to help you manage some of the symptoms that you may be experiencing and to help you to keep fit and active.

If you have a problem with your bones, joint and muscles please visit the Move Better Gwent website.
