Speech and Language Therapists (SLT) in Gwent tailor their approach to your needs so will want to hear your story to decide how to support you, your relative or your child.
The SLT will ask why you have come to speech therapy and what you hope to achieve. They will ask how your life (or your child's) is being affected, what you would like to change and what is most important to change right now. This will take commitment from you.
Sometimes it might not be the right time for you (or your child) to commit to speech and language therapy for your own personal reasons. Please be honest about this and be aware that if you do not attend appointments without letting us know you will be discharged.
It is important that you inform us if your contact details change.
You or your child may have a condition that is known to affect speech, language or swallowing. There are organisations offering useful information which can be found on the Useful Links section below.
