Meeting people, talking to people, and listening to what they have to say, are important in helping the Health Board to understand issues that communities across Gwent are experiencing with local health services. The Health Board runs a comprehensive community engagement program that ensures communities can speak directly with Health Board staff and share their views on health services.
Our community engagement schedule is geographically equitable across the five local authority areas of Blaenau-Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen and focuses on areas of high footfall such as supermarkets, leisure centres and annual events such as Families Love Newport and Pontypool Party in the Park; that take place across Gwent each year. The team regularly meets with local groups such as Mum & Toddler, Knit & Natter and Warm hubs. 2022 saw the Health Board speak directly with over 4300 residents across 149 venues.
