Community Engagement

Meeting people, talking to people, and listening to what they have to say, are important in helping the Health Board to understand issues that communities across Gwent are experiencing with local health services.  The Health Board runs a comprehensive community engagement program that ensures communities can speak directly with Health Board staff and share their views on health services.

Our community engagement schedule is geographically equitable across the five local authority areas of Blaenau-Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen.

The team regularly meets with the public at local groups such as Older Persons community cafes, Mum & Toddler groups, Knit & Natter clubs, and Warm hubs; at local events and in their place of work.  2024 saw the Health Board speak directly with over 4552 residents across 216 venues.
