The Breast Care Unit at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr - Now Open!

We are really excited that the new specialist Breast Care Unit is being built within the grounds of Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr in Ystrad Mynach. Thorough consultation and evaluation of existing Health Board sites concluded that Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr was the most appropriate site to deliver high quality diagnostic, outpatient and treatment service for our residents.

The new Breast Care Unit will offer a wide range of services, tailored to meet the specific needs of patients. It will focus on timely, effective access to treatment, ensuring person centred care is at the forefront when delivering our breast care services.

The purpose-built Unit will present a less clinical feel, offering a warm, dignified and welcoming environment for patients and their families.
