Alison was diagnosed with breast cancer following finding a lump.
She found diagnosis incredibly shocking and noticed she was struggling to manage difficult feelings.
Alison attended 1:1 sessions with a psychologist.
“When I was diagnosed with cancer saying the thought ‘I have cancer’ was terrifying… I didn’t want to do it… it felt as if it would become overwhelming.
Attending sessions and learning new ways of coping surprised me. It didn’t change the fact that I have cancer, but suddenly I felt a space and that I was still me.”
