The Adult Physical Health Psychology service supports adults with physical health problems and the difficulties that comes with them. The service is run by Clinical Psychologists and Counselling Psychologists working alongside many other health professionals.
We offer psychological care to help people cope with the emotional and psychological aspects of health and illness, promote wellbeing, and support them to live full and valued lives, whilst living with physical health difficulties.
The people we see can sometimes be experiencing difficulties with their thoughts, feelings, behaviour, and ability to cope. These difficulties will often be as a result of their medical condition, and often impacts their ability to effectively manage their condition.
We are integrated into the adult’s medical team, working closely with the medical colleges. If you feel our service would be of benefit, this can be discussed with your consultant, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or wider disciplinary medical team, who can refer you if in agreement. |
