Sarah's story

Sarah was diagnosed with head and neck cancer.

She needed an operation to remove the tumour and her tonsils. Following this, she underwent radiotherapy sessions.

Sarah described her medical treatment as excellent but noticed that she was finding it hard to live a meaningful life following treatment.

Sarah attended our Living with Uncertainty Group.

“Following my cancer treatment, I felt lost. I’d gone from having multiple medical appointments every week to suddenly feeling alone. I started to have lots of worries about the future and my cancer returning.

The Living with Uncertainty Group really helped me to understand that my brain was trying to help me but was getting me in a muddle. I learnt that your mind sort of bullies you into a certain direction, but you can decide to take a different direction if you want to."
