New Health and Wellbeing Centre for Newport East

This Engagement ended on 20th November 2022

Thank you to everyone who responded to the Park Surgery Engagement, which ended on Sunday 20th November 2022.

Park Surgery 8-week engagement

The Welsh Government Health Minister has approved funding of £27 million for a new Health and Wellbeing Centre for Newport East expected to open January 2025.  The centre will be based in Ringland and will be able to accommodate two existing GP Practices working independently: Ringland Medical Practice and it is proposed, Park Surgery.

The centre will bring a range of services for patients together in one place, including General Medical Services and Community Dentistry, Community Services, Social Care and Third Sector Partners. This development is a key part of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s Clinical Futures model, helping the Health Board to deliver a wide range of services closer to home for the local community.

Patients at the existing Park Surgery are being asked to share any views they may have regarding this development.  As it is proposed that the Park Surgery could transfer to the new centre, it is important that existing patients tell us about any queries or concerns that they may have, so that they would be able to take full advantage of the new facilities that could be available to them, if the proposal is supported.  To ensure patients can consider this proposal, the Health Board is working closely with the Community Health Council (CHC) and other partner organisations, and an eight-week period of public engagement has been arranged, running from 26th September until 20th November 2022.

There are several ways in which patients can find out more and let us know their thoughts and opinions as follows: -
