Executive Director of Nursing

Jenny qualified as a nurse in 1991, initially working in acute and intensive care services within the UK before leaving to spend two years living and working in the USA. She then returned to the UK and trained as a District Nurse and Health Visitor completing her BSc in Community Nursing at Kings College London and specialised in public health and children’s services in the community. Jenny has an MA in professional practice.

Jenny entered NHS management in the early 2000s focusing on Public Health, children’s services, community hospital management and commissioning and has held Executive Director of Nursing roles for more than 15 years within commissioning in one of the largest CCGs in England, urgent and emergency care services within an Ambulance Service and community services.

Jenny has worked at a National level for the Department of Health, focusing on Nursing and Public Health and has most recently led the National Quality, Improvement and Risk Directors Group within the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives leading the Ambulance response during the pandemic and beyond including the response to Patient Safety and Infection Control

Jenny has significant Board level leadership experience for clinical leadership, clinical governance, service change, patient safety and quality and Jenny is passionate about equality & diversity, patient safety  & quality improvement, staff welfare, patient-centred care and patient experience. Jenny champions the nursing and patient voice and is about population health and promoting a healthy and inclusive work culture.
