New Child Development Programme Ready to Learn Ready to Grow are now accepting referrals- **limited spaces**!

What’s involved?

The intervention, led by Home-Start Cymru, is a 6-session programme where families will be offered either group or 1:1 support for various aspects of child development, speech, language & communication, routines, play and more. Families will also be provided with a physical bag of resources to support their journey including:

 

  • Block puzzle
  • Bubbles
  • Sticker reward chart 
  • Chalk 
  • Crayons
  • Paper pad 
  • Books - Wordless Book, Were going on a Bear Hunt, 'That's not my..' Book
  • Additional resources - Books Trust 'BookStart' Packs for ages 1-2, Welsh Medium Tiny Happy People activity/information cards

From playing and reading together to encouraging independent skills like dressing or using the toilet, it’s all the little things that parents and carers do each day that help their child grow in confidence and independence. Ready to Learn Ready to Grow provides child development support and resources to parents and children to enable them to be ready to start school.

Who’s eligible? (families must qualify for all of the below criteria):

  • Children aged 18 months – 3 years old (at the point of referral)
  • Children and parents/carers who would benefit from support with child development and preparation to transition to school
  • Families experiencing financial difficulty
