Coronavirus: Covid-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has placed significant stresses and strains on our health care services and especially on departments that have a very high patient turnover such as the Eye (Ophthalmology) department. We are still facing a significant challenge due to the impact of Covid-19.

As a result of this, we are aware that there are many patients who are currently referred to us or on our waiting list who will experience a delay as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for your patience in these unprecedented times.

We are currently re-establishing our services, but can only do this in line with the current guidelines for re-establishing eye (ophthalmic) clinical services and will not be at full capacity for some time. We will steadily expand both the range of services we offer and the sites we can offer them from in the upcoming months, but only where this can be done safely. Thanks once again for your patience.

Due in for an appointment?

If we have asked you to come in for treatment, surgery or a clinic appointment, do not delay, please attend your appointment. If you think you cannot attend your appointment because you have Covid symptoms, have recently been in contact with someone who has Covid 19, or for other reasons, please contact us on 01495 765 186.

We have put a number of measures in place to help patients and staff stay safe. These include giving face masks to people on entry at our hospitals and clinics; along with symptoms checking, temperature check before entering and social distancing measures.

Due to Covid -19 we have relocated some clinics to different floors. If you have an appointment please head to E block and go to the reception desk on the 1st floor and they will direct you to the appropriate place for your clinic appointment.
