Urology

Welcome to the Urology Department!

The Urology Service is part of the Surgery Division at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board which manages secondary healthcare for South East Wales, covering the local boroughs of Newport, Torfaen, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire and Blaenau Gwent. 

Urology is the field of medicine that focuses on the urinary tract and the male genital organs.

 The urinary tract consists of the:

  • Kidneys
  • Bladder
  • Ureters
  • Urethra

Our experienced team diagnose and treat a wide range of Urology conditions of the kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, urethra and male reproductive organs, (testes, epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate and penis)

Urology Conditions we treat:

  • Lithotripsy
  • Kidney stones
  • Bladder chemotherapy
  • Trial without catheter and complex catheterisation
  • Kidney, bladder, prostate testicular and penile cancer
  • Men’s sexual health

We are a large department comprising of two main areas, Urology Investigation Unit and the Urology Day Case Unit.
