Memory Assessment Service

Welcome to the Memory Assessment Service webpage.  We support adults living within the Aneurin Bevan Health Board area who are experiencing changes to their memory and a dementia or cognitive impairment is suspected.  Diagnosing dementia accurately helps to ensure that people can access the treatment, support and advice they need to stay well and live independently for as long as possible. The service aims to provide:

  • Timely identification of dementia and other neurodegenerative conditions.
  • Comprehensive assessment and diagnosis.
  • Post-diagnosis advice and support for patients, family and their caregivers.
  • Work with other agencies and service providers, such as the Alzheimer’s Society, to support individuals to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible.
  • Evidence based management in the form of drug treatments, non-drug treatments and therapy input.
