Patients with traumatic injuries will be treated at the Emergency Department at The Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran. Minor injuries can also be assessed at Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny, The Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan (Ebbw Vale) and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr (Ystrad Mynach).

Our team treat patients with problems of the musculoskeletal system, which includes bones, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and joints.  We treat sudden problems, such as those suffered in an incident (Trauma) and also those that arise and develop over time.

Elective surgery is performed at four sites across the Health Board; The Royal Gwent Hospital and St Woolos Hospital (Newport), Nevill Hall Hospital (Abergavenny) and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr (Ystrad Mynach). Outpatient clinics are run from the aforementioned sites, as well as at Chepstow Hospital, County Hospital (Pontypool) and Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan.

Upon referral to the Trauma and Orthopaedic department, you will be contacted by the booking teams either by telephone or letter.

Once you have received your letter, our teams are able to answer queries about your referral, appointments or clinical treatment via telephone or email.
