Much loved Midwife features in ITV Documentary

Earlier this year we had a surprise visit from Sir Trevor McDonald, who came to the Health Board to meet our very own Vernesta Cyril OBE. Vernesta served with us as a much-loved midwife at the Royal Gwent Hospital for 40 years, is the founder of the South East Wales Race Equality Council and still lives in Gwent today.

Look out for her tonight on ITV's Pride Of Britain: A Windrush Special, airing at 9pm. Marking 75 years since the Empire Windrush ship's arrival at Tilbury Docks, this documentary in partnership with Pride of Britain tells the story of the Windrush generation and the contribution made to British life.
