When a patient is well enough to return home, hospital is not the best place for their recovery. Yet, due to difficulties with discharging patients back into the community, more than 300 people that no longer need hospital-based care are spending prolonged periods in hospital beds across Gwent.

'Falls Awareness Week’ represents a national campaign with the aim of increasing awareness around falls, health promotion and injury prevention.

The first ever Safer Communities Awareness Week for Wales is taking place on  18 – 22 September 2023.

The Neurofit@NERS pathway was first established in March 2022, after the Torfaen Exercise Referral Team noticed a gap in service provision and reached out to the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Physiotherapy department to combine services. 

We are delighted that so many of our teams in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board have been shortlisted at this year's NHS Wales Awards in recognition of their amazing work across the Gwent area. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 26th October 2023 - good luck to all!
