Royal Gwent Celebrate 100-year-old Patient with Ward Party

Happy birthday to Elizabeth, who turned 100 years old on Wednesday 17th July!

Staff on Ward C7 East at the Royal Gwent Hospital helped Elizabeth celebrate with her family by throwing her a party in the day room. Everyone enjoyed looking at old photos of Elizabeth throughout the decades, and amongst her many birthday cards was a particularly special one!

Elizabeth has spent much of her life helping others, so staff wanted to go above and beyond to give her the most special day possible.

The ward’s Activities Co-ordinator, Rebecca Seaward, helped arrange the party.

She said: “We always want to make our patients feel as comfortable, active and entertained as possible whilst in hospital, so it was a pleasure to put this special celebration together for Elizabeth. Reaching the 100th birthday milestone is such an amazing achievement so we wanted to make it really memorable for her and get her family and fellow patients involved in the day. I think you can tell from her face just how excited she was!”
